Frst Look- PotionDust

My post today is a look into the indie bath & body company Potion Dust. Potion Dust is a newer company, which began late last year. The owner is a lovely woman named Jennifer and her products are top notch as is her customer service! This is my first actual order from Potion Dust besides her Valentines box which i ordered back in January and I am impressed. Potion Dust carries many products including shampoo bars, whipped soaps, lip balms, bath goodies, etc. She has a quick turn-around time in my opinion as well and communicates very well with customers. Her store is generally always open to shop and she seems to release new scents often which means more options for us, YAY!

The order i'm going over with everyone Today is mostly items from her Spring collection, with a few of her core scented items thrown in. My order was shipped incredibly quick, it shipped the same day I ordered and was in my hands about three days later. I gave myself some time with the products to really get a feel and honest opinion on everything, with that being said let's dig in!

My order consists of 5 different products in 9 different scents:
-Bunnie Cakes-Sparkling lemon and lime citrus effervescence blends with buttery pound cake, vanilla, almond and warm sugar.
-Giggle Beans-Sweet and fruity jellybeans with a little giggle.
-Orange Pop-Fresh oranges in a mix of some bubbly fizz.
-Peep Poo-Fresh creamy marshmallows fresh outta the chick.
-Yummy-Fresh picked strawberries, cherries, peaches, lemons, raspberries and tangerine laid down a background of soft woods
-Whipped-A dollop of cream whipped up into a frothy goodness.
-Gimme Candy-Ultimate, sweet spun-sugar delight! It smells like it will melt in your mouth and is a delicious treat for the senses which brings back childhood memories of a pink or blue cloud of decadent spun sugar. Also there is a slight undertone of tobacco/burn t sugar to top of one of our top seller scents!
-Banana-Very ripe sweet bananas! This reminds me of when my bananas start to brown and it fills the air with the amazing smell!

There was a very generous free sample also included in my order, a "Bunnie Cakes" scented It Bubbles! It is about 3/4 the size of the full-sized one that i purchased. Love it!

I'll start out with the shampoo bars. I ordered four of these simply because i needed to smell the Spring scents that appealed to me and it seemed like it was the cheapest way. I got the small shampoo bars in the scents "Orange Pop", "Yummy", "Whipped", & "Giggle Beans". These may be the small shampoo bars, but they will last you quite a while...not to mention HOW FRIGGIN CUTE ARE THESE FOR REAL!?! I was a fan of two scents in the bars and not a fan of the other two. "Orange Pop" and "Giggle Beans" are the two that i loved, I de-stashed the other two as they just were not "me" scents. I used the "Giggle Beans" a few times and i am definitely a fan, it lathers well and rinses out completely and leaves a nice scent in my hair. I definitely recommend these for those looking to test a new shampoo bar.

I ordered two Magic Mists, which are Potion Dust's body sprays in "Peep Poo" and "Gimme Candy". I'm a huge body spray fan, i have a ton from various brands both indie and non-indie and these are some of the best i own. The scent lasts for me, and while this may vary scent to scent these two scents are both strong and i am absolutely in love with them. "Peep Poo" smells like fresh marshmallows with vanilla and it is a nice light sweet scent, while "Gimme Candy" is out of this world! "Gimme Candy" is one of the most popular and raved about Potion Dust scents so i just had to try it! It smells like fruity cotton candy mixed with a light tobacco scent to me, it is strong and perfection! I need it in all the things. If your a body spray fan, try these out they are top notch.

I ordered It Bubbles in "Bunnie Cakes", and got a sample of it as well. This performs well in the bath, it made my skin feel awesome and created lots of bubbles. This was using about 1/4 of my sample, so i have plenty left for other baths. These are definitely worth the money.

Onto the last two items in my order. "Banana" Head to Toe Lotion and "Sangria" Lip Frosting. The lip frosting which is Potion Dust's lip balm is a wonderful consistency with just the right amount of scent added. It is not flavored, so no it doesn't taste good but it is a great moisturizing balm and does exactly what it is supposed to do. I'm a lip balm freak and these are one of my favorites. The "Sangria" scent is very true to what you would expect as well, it is wonderful!
The Head to Toe Lotion is very different from what I am used to finding in the indie world. This is a thinner consistency, most indie brands tend to carry body butters only which is a much thicker lotion so this is a nice change of pace. This sinks into my skin almost immediately, it's thin but extremely moisturizing and not at all greasy. The scent i chose is "Banana", it smells just like Banana runts to me. This is my FAVE banana scent that i have found so far. This lotion is great, and i definitely recommend to everyone who wants a change of pace from the heavy body butters out there.

I am very impressed with this company in all aspects. The appearance, the scents available, and the product performance. I have loved all the items that i have tried so far and i hope you all decide to pick some things up for yourself! I have an order placed currently for her new one-time box called the Unsinkable Tribute, which is a Titanic themed box. I will be reviewing this once it arrives as well so stay tuned! First Impression: Moonalisa

Today i will be chatting about the indie bath and body company Moonalisa (or Moona for short). Moonalisa is a new to me company, and after hearing rave reviews in the facebook groups i belong to i just had to order! Moona carries many products including lotions, perfume oils, lip butters, etc. The shop is not always stocked online, so it is best to follow Moona on their facebook page to stay up to date on restocks and releases. Her products are very popular, and they do sell out FAST!

The order i'm showing ya'll today is from a small restock that she did on February 22nd, I just received this in the mail Yesterday March 10th so the turn-around time for this order was not too bad at all. Her usual TAT for releases is around 30 business days, which seems like forever but trust me it's SO worth it. Now, let's get into my order!

My order consists of 4 different products in 4 different scents:
-"Chateau de Chambord"- made from raspberries, blackberries, Madagascar vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey and cognac to create an all-natural Black Raspberry liqueur.
-"Peches Melba"- juicy ripe peaches with a squeeze of lemon and fresh raspberry topped vanilla bean ice cream.
-"Torta Del Cielo"- Heavenly Cake; A traditional Mayan desert . It is a scrumptious , moist Almond sponge cake soaked with Rum or Brandy. Made with tons of butter, sugar, eggs and Vanilla bean.
-"Bananas Foster"- Creamy rich Banana and butter , made with an all natural Banana flavor oil.

Moona also included a free sample in my order, a butter rich cream in the scent "Bohemian Amber". I cannot find a scent description for this, the scent is not for me but i am just not a musky/floral scent person.

I'll start with the perfume oils, these are seriously gorgeous. I mean LOOK AT THEM! I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and these just are a million times yes! I got a perfume oil in the "Peches Melba" scent and one in the "Torta Del Cielo" scent. I am madly in love with "Peches Melba", its a nice fruity and juicy scent and I need it in more things! It lasts on my skin as well, which is of course what everyone looks for with a perfume. "Torta Del Cielo" is one that i feel iffy on, i plan on putting it up for trade/sale in one of my indie groups as the scent just seems not for me. It fits the description well, but i feel like the almond scent stands out to much for my tastes. I originally purchased it because it was a scent people were raving about, and because it is a discontinued scent, meaning sorry guys that i teased you but you can't get this one anymore (sad-face) but alas it is just not for me. All-in-all i give Moona perfumes two thumbs up!

I ordered Moona butter rich cream in the scent "Chateau de Chambord", it is a 4 oz container and has a nice label and look at how it is filled to the brim! The scent is amazing, i wish i would have purchased it in other products but there is always next time right?! The cream is a wonderful texture and it sinks right into my skin almost instantly, no greasy after feel either just pure moisture. I will definitely be purchasing more BRC's in other scents.

I also ordered a lip butter in "Bananas Foster". I am a lip balm addict so i am always looking for "holy grail" lip products and this is definitely one of them! The scent is awesome, as is the texture. I don't get much flavor from it but it is lightly flavored. This scent will make you want to eat it, but please don't because that is just a tummy ache waiting to happen.

I am extremely impressed with this company, for both the appearance of the product and the products themselves. I love the items i have ordered and i highly recommend to check them out next restock and pick some things up for yourself! I have placed a couple orders in the last release which was just a few weeks ago, and i will be reviewing those once they arrive as well to give you a better feel of Moonalisa's other products. Fortune Cookie Soap Wonderland Collection

Today i'm blogging about the company that first introduced me to the world of indie, Fortune Cookie Soap. 

    Fortune Cookie Soap is an amazing indie bath & body company, they have a store front shop located in Oklahoma and they also have an online shop which ships to the United States as well as other countries! They do have a huge fan base, and some do not consider them "indie" at this point because they have had a gigantic amount of growth in a short amount of time. Fortune Cookie Soap has many items including lip scrubs, soaps, body mists, wax melts, etc. They have a themed subscription box as well that ships quarterly which includes usually 8 items in various scents as well as a coupon code for $10 which can be used at any time, this box is a preview per say of a upcoming collection, they then will have a launch party which you can tune into to see the products and afterwards the website opens and it is time to shop!

    The Fortune Cookie Soap collection for Spring is Wonderland themed. Alice in Wonderland is my favorite thing EVER, so I was very anxious to get my hands on these products. The collection was released on February 27th and I am absolutely in love! I received the Spring box beforehand so I did know which scents i liked and disliked beforehand. There were 8 scents in the line-up, i was a fan of 4 as the others were either too floral or musky for me.

A blend of calla lily mixed with verbena, lemongrass, and leafy greens with soothing ylang ylang, rosewood, and ozone.

Off with Their Heads
A delightful fragrance of lemons, oranges, and a manicured garden of wild roses, violets, and star jasmine.

Futterwacken
Sun warmed lilies brightened with a splash of grapefruit and a breath of fresh air.    

Eat Me
Scrumptious yellow cake with a fresh slathering of rich, creamy vanilla frosting, topped with fresh white pineapple slices and garnished with a sprig of blooming cilantro.

Playful mint waters and natural leafy green notes perform a masterful balancing act with musky rich cedarwood.

Almost Alice
Fresh green snap peas and juicy pears brighten this bouquet of sweet pea flowers, and freesia, sprinkled with ripe berries.

Who Are You
A mysterious mixture of crisp, ripe, pear twisted with tart limes, vanilla orchid, and dash of raw cane sugar.

Twisted Tea Party
A light, refreshing, green tea with notes of sweet herbs, vanilla bean, cucumber, golden amber, and hints of neroli and geranium, stirred with a bright sprig of spearmint.

    I made a decent sized order as you can see, launches are pretty stressful and things sell out fast so i did miss out on a few things i wanted at first but i have since ordered those. This order took quite a while to get to me unfortunately due to weather issues in Oklahoma, but luckily everything arrived in one piece. My favorite scent is the "Who Are You", it is very nice and fruity and i'm just in love. "Almost Alice" has surprised me and has become a favorite also, it is semi-floral but it has grown on me. I am a huge fan of "Twisted Tea Party" in ALL THE THINGS! "Eat Me" is also a nice scent, but not my absolute favorite. I have included some close-up photos below.

     If you are new to Fortune Cookie Soap, I highly recommend trying them out! My favorite products are the "Whipped Creams" which are body butter/lotions, OCD hand sanitizers, and personal spaces! You can order sampler packs of the whipped creams as well as bar soap samplers. The prices are pretty reasonable so I feel you get more bang for your buck. Welcome To My Blog!

Welcome to SimplyRae. I created this blog a few years back but never ended up using it besides a few random posts here and there. I have recently decided to completely start over, i erased all my old posts and well...here I am!
    I will introduce myself a bit before hopping right in. For those who do not know, I'm Sahrae and I reside in Upstate New York. I am happily married to my soulmate, Nicolas and we have our two fur babies who I love more than life..Chance my pug and Cosmo our kitty (or Nick's kitty..I should say). This blog will include a lot about my love of indie bath, makeup, nail products, subscription boxes, etc. I will do product reviews, possible rants, and just random thoughts that come to my mind. I am random, I am emotional, I am honest, I am real.
